L.Aundry

Portrait of the artists' laundry #laundryexhibit #heavygela #xseande

XSE&E participated in this pop up gallery in a laundry mat.

The laundry mat was open and people were doing laundry. Myself included. I sold some work, and gave a really embarrassing interview for some show on the Ovation network. This is a truth about LA- dudes with cameras everywhere.

YPSILANTI LIVE PRINTING

liveprint

This weekend Sarms and I drove to Ypsilanti, Michigan to do some live screen printing at the Festival of Honeybee’sat the Corner Brewery as part of Halcyon Summer Days.

It was hit, patrons were invited to bring their own article to print on or purchase a blank t from us.

We raided the old storage of Sarms’ retired printing company, Modati and he donated a huge score of old screens, t shirts, and squeegees. Thanks Modati!

Still Life With Ball and Plate

sad bastards

Heavy Gel put together this show with Arvo Zylo, a mix of experimental singer songwriters, and noise.

Zack Kouns, electronics/noise and ethnic instruments/folk music. He plays music with voice, tenor and alto saxophone, clarinet, trumpet, temple blocks, chinese opera gong, tape manipulation, violin, banjo.

Arvo Zylo/ Blood Rythms, “Arvo Zylo’s recordings / talents run the range from truly overwhelming, confrontational / chilling harsh noise, to thought-provoking experimental sounds rooted in the 1980s Raplh/LAFMS/post-TG international “noise boom.”

Duncan Allen-Burns, textural sad bastard.

Health&Beauty, the best tape I’ve bought this year. Great singer-songwriter. Can’t wait to see it live @ EL MAMEY, FRIDAY JUNE 21st!

Triangle Wall Sculptures

Here are a few sketches for a three dimensional wall sculpture I’m working on. I’m planning to put the wood shop in the basement to good use by cutting a whole bunch of triangles and fitting them together with magnets so they will be repositionable. I’m hoping they can break apart into smaller pieces, or be combined into larger masses. Still deciding how much screen printing to incorporate,  or if I should just paint everything by hand.

days after drawing these I was still tracing triangles with my fingers on everything
