Heavy Gel recently got access to a cassette tape duplicator, so of course we made some tapes for Chicago noise rock, sex cult, La Cosa. This is a live tape from two April 2015 appearances. The A side features the band live on the air at W.Z.R.D. complete with calls in’s from the local flavors, and an interview with the band. B side is a live show at Live Wire.

La Cosa has grown and changed a lot since their first official release in 2013. This tape reflects the current lineup and sound, where each of the 7 members contributes to an intricate wall of undulating noise, samples, feedback, and squeaks of un-pinpoinable  origin.

Screenprinting Cassette Tapes

tapecaseprocess

Experimenting printing the cassette boxes for my new tape release. Going to use some acrylic/ink hybrid or play around with whatever “plastic” paints I’ve got around the studio.

Ret Records asked us to design a label for their new 7″.

This will be the first album in a series of records merging hip hop, funk, pop, and soul, a revamping of a classic style.

FEEDBACULA ALBUM

[portfolio_slideshow id=1803]

Heavy Gel has been working on this massive album art project for Feedbacula pre and post moving to LA. And it is almost, almost done.

Project included the design and printing of the album cover, the inner record sleeve, a patch, stickers for the record and a sticker insert.

Still to come are a button being make by Anna Gregoline, a release show poster, and possibly t-shirts.

This is a REALLY great record and first vinyl release for the duo, be sure to pick up a copy!
